Assumptions (Mistakes) That Parents Make With Estate Plans, Allan Vyhnalek 2020 University of Nebraska-Lincoln 81818app手机版下载

Assumptions (Mistakes) That Parents Make With Estate Plans, Allan Vyhnalek

Cornhusker Economics

81818app手机版下载The main goal of many parents when writing their estate plan is for their children to continue to be a family. With this goal in mind, parents make many assumptions to “keep the peace” when planning their estate. If the family has a key fight then family activities, like holiday gatherings, no longer happen. Let’s look at these assumptions and make some observations about each. The overall goal is to think through our actions with the intent that the family stays together.

Three Gastrointestinal Assays, Bailey Majtyka 2020 State University of New York College at Brockport 81818app手机版下载

Three Gastrointestinal Assays, Bailey Majtyka

Senior Honors Theses

Gastrointestinal (GI) functionality relies on the spontaneous, rhythmic and coordinated propagation of muscular contractions in the GI tract, or GI motility. Without these coordinated motor patterns, digestion falters, and results in problems with digestion. Disrupted or un-coordinated motor patterns are associated with altered GI transit times. GI transit is the amount of time necessary for intestinal contents to move through the GI tract. GI transit is measured in patients complaining about abdominal discomfort to determine if discomfort results from a true dysmotility or from idiopathic symptoms. GI transit assays help to determine appropriate treatments but idiopathic symptoms, or pain from ...

Identifying The Motivational Factors For Adults With Intellectual Disabilities For Participating In Sport, Alyssa Williams 2020 State University of New York College at Brockport

Identifying The Motivational Factors For Adults With Intellectual Disabilities For Participating In Sport, Alyssa Williams

Senior Honors Theses

Opportunities for physical activity participation are limited in adults with disabilities. The purpose of this study was to identify the motivational factors for sports participation in 25 adults with intellectual disabilities (ID). This study also analyzed potential gender differences in the sample (18 males and 7 females). A pictorial measure was created, featuring a statement and a corresponding illustration that was then provided to the sample. Participant responses to each statement were recorded as “like me,” “a little like me” or “not like me.” The results showed the pictorial measure had acceptable reliability estimates using a test retest procedure. Most ...

An Investigation Into The Role Of Arf6 In Mch-Mediated Rearrangements In 3t3-L1 Preadipocytes, Bohdan Smich 2020 State University of New York College at Brockport 81818app手机版下载

An Investigation Into The Role Of Arf6 In Mch-Mediated Rearrangements In 3t3-L1 Preadipocytes, Bohdan Smich

Senior Honors Theses

Obesity has become a pandemic in our society. One potential method to alleviate this crisis is the use of pharmaceutical therapy to manage how our bodies metabolize the energy that we consume. Chronic overconsumption can lead to the activation of inflammatory responses and metabolic dysregulation, such as insulin resistance, and promote the obese condition. The pathways involved in the motility of pre-adipocyte cells are important in understanding how our bodies interpret and react to specific biochemical signals. This research is focused on a pathway that activates the expansion and migration of pre-adipocytes. Melanin-concentrating Hormone (MCH) is a neuropeptide that is ...

Tonic And Phasic Amperometric Monitoring Of Dopamine Using Microelectrode Arrays In Rat Striatum, Martin Lundblad, David A. Price, Jason J. Burmeister, Jorge E. Quintero, Peter Huettl, Francois Pomerleau, Nancy R. Zahniser, Greg A. Gerhardt

Neuroscience Faculty Publications

Here we report a novel microelectrode array recording approach to measure tonic (resting) and phasic release of dopamine (DA) in DA-rich areas such as the rat striatum and nucleus accumbens. The resulting method is tested in intact central nervous system (CNS) and in animals with extensive loss of the DA pathway using the neurotoxin, 6-hydroxyDA (6-OHDA). The self-referencing amperometric recording method employs Nafion-coated with and without m-phenylenediamine recording sites that through real-time subtraction allow for simultaneous measures of tonic DA levels and transient changes due to depolarization and amphetamine-induced release. The recording method achieves low-level measures of both tonic and ...

Multiple Myeloma With Intracranial And Spinal Intradural Metastasis: A Case Report, Der-Cherng Chen, Wei-Lin Hsu

BioMedicine

Multiple myeloma is a hematopoietic cancer that is multicentric and most commonly involves the spine. Multiple myeloma with extraosseous and intradural involvement is an extremely rare condition. Here we present a rare case of spinal multiple myeloma with intracranial and spinal intradural metastasis causing lumbar spinal nerve compression. We present a 60-year-old woman with progressive weakness of the lower limbs for several weeks. Spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a leptomeningeal tumor with nodularity spreading within the cauda equina. Examination of the brain using MRI showed a lytic skull bone lesion and leptomeningeal enhancement. The patient underwent L3-5 laminectomy. Immunohistological ...

A Unique Intraluminal Growth Of Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma: A Case Report, Mojtaba Mohammadi Ardehali, Shirin Irani, Mohammadreza Firouzifar

BioMedicine

81818app手机版下载Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA) is a rare, hypervascular, benign tumor which is mainly seen among male adolescents. The tumor typically originates from the sphenopalatine fossa, but could spread through natural foramens and fissures. There are some reports of atypical growth of this tumor in literature but the intraluminal growth, which could be seen in paraganglioma and glomus tumors, has not reported yet in angiofibroma. In this article we present a case of extensive angiofoibroma with intraluminal involvement of the ophthalmic vein. Our patient was a 19-year-old boy with a complaint of nasal obstruction and occasional epistaxis since a year ago ...

Application Of Artificial Neural Network In Predicting Ei, elahe allahyari 2020 birjand university of medical sciences

Application Of Artificial Neural Network In Predicting Ei, Elahe Allahyari

BioMedicine

Introduction: Emotional intelligence (EI) constitutes a whole set of non-cognitive capabilities, competencies, and skills that affect one’s ability to deal successfully with environmental demands and pressures. Different factors such as gender, age, education, place of residence, etc. can influence this variable. Nevertheless, the influence of a multitude of factors involved in behavioral phenomena cannot often be controlled.

Purpose: Therefore, some difficulty may often raise in finding associations between these variables using regression models as regression models are built on restrictive assumptions.

Methods: In these cases, models such as artificial neural networks are excellent alternatives to regression models. In this ...

The Concept Of Natureculture Document: A Conceptual Exploration Of Seeds, Embodied Information, And Unconventional Records, Marc Kosciejew

Journal of Contemporary Archival Studies

81818app手机版下载Seedbanks, or so-called archival arks of the apocalypse, are addressing accelerating anthropocentric alterations to the environment by collecting, storing, and preserving seeds. These are specialized archival repositories that approach, frame, and use seeds as documents for agricultural and scientific research, classification and preservation work, and various other archival and administrative purposes. Seedbanks indeed are archives of unconventional records.

This article introduces the concept of natureculture document as a framing device in which to help analyze the documentary status of objects that are not necessarily or usually considered as documents or having documentary characteristics. This concept, coupled with its interdisciplinary theoretical ...
