Comparing Profitability And Management Factors Across Operation Type: Independent Vs. Contract Growing, Elliott James Dennis 2020 University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Comparing Profitability And Management Factors Across Operation Type: Independent Vs. Contract Growing, Elliott James Dennis

Extension Farm and Ranch Management

First paragraph:

There is strong local and national interest in adding hog barns to existing row crop operations. Declining on farm income over the past several years has accelerated this interest. Grain operations cite diversifying farm income, adding another family to the farm operation, and/or replacing commercial fertilizer expense as the primary reasons for adding a hog barn.

Atom Identifiers Generated By A Neighborhood-Specific Graph Coloring Method Enable Compound Harmonization Across Metabolic Databases, Huan Jin, Joshua M. Mitchell, Hunter N. B. Moseley 2020 University of Kentucky

Atom Identifiers Generated By A Neighborhood-Specific Graph Coloring Method Enable Compound Harmonization Across Metabolic Databases, Huan Jin, Joshua M. Mitchell, Hunter N. B. Moseley

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry Faculty Publications

Metabolic flux analysis requires both a reliable metabolic model and reliable metabolic profiles in characterizing metabolic reprogramming. Advances in analytic methodologies enable production of high-quality metabolomics datasets capturing isotopic flux. However, useful metabolic models can be difficult to derive due to the lack of relatively complete atom-resolved metabolic networks for a variety of organisms, including human. Here, we developed a neighborhood-specific graph coloring method that creates unique identifiers for each atom in a compound facilitating construction of an atom-resolved metabolic network. What is more, this method is guaranteed to generate the same identifier for symmetric atoms, enabling automatic identification of ...

Changing The Story: Improving The Quality Of Life Experienced By Children With Cancer Best Practices, Programs & Interventions, Samantha K. Bohling 2020 State University of New York College at Brockport

Changing The Story: Improving The Quality Of Life Experienced By Children With Cancer Best Practices, Programs & Interventions, Samantha K. Bohling

Senior Honors Theses

81818app手机版下载It is no secret that children get cancer. While the battle against cancer is no light matter regardless of one’s age, the impact of such a diagnosis for a child or adolescent can be incredibly devastating. The necessity for this project lies in the research that illustrates a need for increased action to be directed toward fulfilling the psychosocial needs of children as they navigate cancer treatments. Children are still in the early stages of development; they are meant to be enriching their minds, building social relationships with peers, and playing and exploring their world. Cancer threatens all of ...

Synthetic Alkaloid Treatment Influences The Intestinal Epithelium And Mesenteric Adipose Transcriptome In Holstein Steers, Kyle J. McLean, Ransom L. Baldwin VI, Congjun Li, James L. Klotz, J. Lannett Edwards, Kyle R. McLeod 2020 University of Kentucky 81818app手机版下载

Synthetic Alkaloid Treatment Influences The Intestinal Epithelium And Mesenteric Adipose Transcriptome In Holstein Steers, Kyle J. Mclean, Ransom L. Baldwin Vi, Congjun Li, James L. Klotz, J. Lannett Edwards, Kyle R. Mcleod

Animal and Food Sciences Faculty Publications

Holstein steers (n = 16) were used to determine if a synthetic alkaloid, bromocriptine, would alter the transcriptome of the small intestine and adjacent mesenteric adipose. On d 0, steers were assigned to one of two treatments: control (CON; saline only) or bromocriptine (BROMO; 0.1 mg/kg BW bromocriptine mesylate injected intramuscularly every 3 d for 30 d). Steers were slaughtered and midpoint sections of jejunal epithelium and associated mesenteric fat were collected for RNA isolation. Transcriptome analysis was completed via RNA-Seq to determine if BROMO differed compared with CON within intestinal epithelium or mesenteric adipose mRNA isolates. Differential expression ...

Establishing A Methodology For Conducting A Rapid Review On Wearable Technology Reliability And Validity In Applied Settings, Brenna Barrios, Bryson Carrier, Brayden Jolley, Dustin W. Davis, Jacquelyn Sertic, James W. Navalta 2020 University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Establishing A Methodology For Conducting A Rapid Review On Wearable Technology Reliability And Validity In Applied Settings, Brenna Barrios, Bryson Carrier, Brayden Jolley, Dustin W. Davis, Jacquelyn Sertic, James W. Navalta

Topics in Exercise Science and Kinesiology

  • Wearable technology is becoming increasingly popular with new devices entering the market frequently, but with disproportionality less research being conducted on the reliability and validity in field settings, outside of the laboratory.
  • This paper details the methodology of gathering research based on the principals of a rapid review, using these points of application: inclusion criteria of studies (databases), search terms (data to be extracted), and how research will be conducted (narrowing articles and assessing bias).
  • Point of application #1: Inclusion criteria are described well as potential databases used, allowing a means of not only systematically gathering information, but also the ...
